Flower Festival Ready to Roll Next Week

Flower Festival Ready to Roll Next Week

5th - 10th August. Don't miss the Flower Festival at St Cuthbert's Church, Billingham Green, 2pm - 7pm daily. Its being put on by the Friends of St Cuthbert's in partnership with Billingham Parish with much of the growing and arranging done by Friend's Events Coordinator Janet Turley with Verger Paul Harker and Hall Caretaker Trevor Bowes handling the heavy stuff.

Adult entry is £2 with accompanied children free. Over the week, the Festival will bring the Church alive with flowers, plants, art, people and colour and there will be plant stalls, refreshments, commemorative memorabilia and potted display plants for sale.

Money raised will help fund the inspired future for the Church being planned by Friend's, while donations will also be made to three national charities - Smile Train, UNICEF and Oxfam,

Janet says that the Church also has some unbelievable stained glass windows, each one telling its own story. As part of the Festival, she is offering everyone the chance to sponsor a window, dedicating the space to a family member or loved one, or a friend or organisation.

She is asking everyone to come along to the Festival and make a difference for the future for both St Cuthbert's and for the three charities being supported. She says "Show you care - be there."
